The 2022 Nannuo Shan Gushu comes from older trees than its 2021 and 2020 counterparts. The trees are estimated to be at least 800 years old and stand at the Banpo (middle slope) in the ancient village of Nannuo Shan. This is the oldest tea tree we have ever found for the Nannuo Shan Pu Erh.
The old age of the trees can be seen in the minty and mossy aroma and flavor not found in Nannuo Gushu or Nannuo Dashu in the past. The old age of the trees is also reflected in the tea body, which is thicker, softer and less astringent. After all, you can feel the power of old age through the energy that flows through the body and, above all, through the spirit after just a few infusions. I really recommend the vertical tasting of the 2021 Nannuo Gushu and the 2022 Nannuo Gushu to get a better feel for the super mature trees.
