Gushu Pu Erh Bingdao Dijie 2017 冰岛 地界

A raw, unfermented Pu Erh tea, also known as "green" Pu Erh or Pu Erh Sheng Cha. This Pu Erh tea comes from ancient tea trees (known as Gushu in Chinese) from 300 years old from Mengku Bing Dao Village in Lincang City, Yunnan Province.

Bingdao as a large village consists of 5 small villages, Bingdao old village, Dijie, Nuowu, Bawai and Nanpo. The old village of Bingdao makes the most expensive Pu Erh tea, while Bingdao Dijie makes much cheaper tea that is close to the old village in taste and mouthfeel, but different from it.

Bingdao village lies on 2000 m above the sea level. The altitude of the tea garden and the old age of the tea trees give Bingdao tea its deep mineral taste.

This Sheng Pu Erh is characterized by fruity nuances Mango bowl and grapes. Easy bitter sweetness meet soft, bitter notes.

The aftertaste is a watery and refreshing sweetness on the tip of the tongue and under both sides of the tongue.

If you are a beginner of Sheng Pu Erh, Bingdao is the perfect choice, because it does not have the strong bitterness of many other raw Pu Erh tea (bitter taste is not a bad quality for raw Pu Erh, it is what many people look for in raw Pu Erh). This tea was harvested a year ago, and the year-long aging process has made it even gentler than a new Bingdao.

Depending on the amount of tea and the time, the tea can be sweet with no bitterness or sweet with a slight pleasant bitterness. The bitterness turns into a sweet aftertaste after a few minutes.

This raw pu erh is suitable for storage and aging, the older it gets, the sweeter and smoother it becomes. It can be stored for 10 years or more. It will eventually lose all of its bitterness and turn into a Pu Erh Shu Cha (fermented Pu Erh) with a darker color and smoother texture.

After receiving the tea, give it a few days to wake up or be active again as the shipping process might be airtight en route without oxygen, the tea might not breathe well for a few days made the tea more bitter and more astringent than it should be naturally.
