Description

This Fuding Silver Needle is the first picking of the Fuding White tea back in March 2020. It is from our trusted white tea plantation, located 600m above the sea level in the Tai Mu Mountain in Fuding. The environment around the tea plantation has the purest air. It is proved to be pesticide free and fertilizer free in the lab. The tea has a refreshing nectar sweetness and a very flowery aroma.

This Silver Needle is charcoal roasted. The roasting of our Silver needle as white tea is conducted when the water left only around 10%. We do not roast silver needle in early stage. That will make the white tea 'green' . We know that white tea is different form green tea in that there is slight fermentation for white tea. Only in the later stage, when the moisturein the tea cells is left only about 10%, can the fermentation take place (tea cell membrane lose its function due to lack of water. without the protection of cell membrane, the tea content will be able to exposted to oxygen in between). So to ensure the nature of white tea, we do not conduct long charcoal roasting.
After the silver needle is made, we do not roast it again. (But I can understand some manufacturer might possibly roast the silver needle after it is kept long time, to reduce some moisture it absorbs during the storage years).
