2024 Ku Zhu Shan Danzhu - Pu Erh tea from a single tea tree
The wonderful Pu Erh, dedicated to the birth of our daughter Paulina.
There is a reason why this tea has been missed by many of our regular customers.
Danzhu means single tree. The leaves you get are all from a single tree. Trees for making Danzhu tea must be old enough and big enough to produce enough leaves. This means Danzhu tea must come from ancient tea trees. This Ku Zhu Shan Danzhu was harvested in April 2024 in the mountain called Ku Zhu Shan in the Jinggu region. The trees are located 2200 meters above sea level in the mountains.

The taste
The aroma you smelled with your nose is also found in the taste. It tastes sweet, like drinking the smooth, clear and sweet juice of jasmine flowers.
This tea has not been heavily roasted, so the floral and fruity aroma and flavor dominate. It does not have a roasted or nutty flavor like more roasted Pu Erh tea. It has a kind of creaminess that you find in honey. The jasmine-like flowers and honey-like creams are very evident in the aftertaste. After drinking this tea, you can enjoy this aftertaste for a long time.
This Pu Erh tea is only roasted very lightly and at a low temperature so that the enzymes in the leaves are still very active. This means that the tea tastes quite green and refreshing now at the beginning (spring 2024), but can mature faster and better in the following months and years. We therefore recommend not opening this tea for enjoyment before October 2024. If you are looking for an exceptional Sheng Pu Erh that can be enjoyed immediately, you should take a look at the Bingdao Dijie 2024.
