The Yingpan Shan tea gardens are located in southwest China near Simao (now part of Pu'er City) in Yunnan Province. This region is one of the most important origins of the famous Pu-erh tea and is characterized by a particularly diverse and humid mountain landscape.
This easy-drinking Yunnan white tea has a subtle herbal sweetness reminiscent of a mature Fuding Shoumei white tea and a typical Yunnan white tea. It is made primarily from mature leaves grown in a natural tea garden in Ying Pan Shan, Simao, Yunnan. Located at an altitude of approximately 1700 meters, the area enjoys clear, humid air during the spring and summer months. Harvested in 2023, this white tea has already developed an amber hue and a velvety texture. Its subtle herbal sweetness makes it a refreshing tea for the evening or after a rich meal.
The tea matures quickly and develops a more intense flavor and a softer texture in about 3 years.
Brewing Instruction
The tea can be brewed for 15 seconds in the Gongfu style or steeped in a large teapot for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the amount of tea.
Try to break off the largest pieces possible from the tea cake. You can use a pu-erh knife , for example, but an oyster knife or letter opener can also help. Try to leave the leaves as intact as possible.
