Dianhong means red tea from Yunnan, as Dian stands for Yunnan and Hong stands for red. Pollen honey in the name points to the general direction of the aroma, taste and mouthfeel of this tea. In Europe, it is also known as Golden Yunnan.
This black tea is considered as Kouliang Cha by the Chinese, which means a daily enjoyment that one can afford and cannot live without.
It is a comfortable tea that with balanced aroma and sweetness reminiscent of pollen, honey and red dates. With 6-8 gram for 100ml boiling water, one can enjoy this black tea for about 10 infusions.
In addition, this Pollen Honey Dianhong is a great tea for cold brewing in summer. One just need to throw some 8 g of dry leaves into 1 L water of room temperature and let it infuse for 1 hours, or let it infuse for overnight in the fridge. The tastes of honey and red dates are accentuated through the slow infusion.
