Material: solid bamboo
This bamboo material is heavier and stronger than a piece of oak. We brought a piece from China for private use and for two years we thought it was solid wood. When we were told it was bamboo we couldn't believe it because it felt like a very solid piece of heavy wood in our hand. It's still hard to believe, but if you look closely you can see some patterns on the surface that can only exist in bamboo wood. We were told that the material is made from large bamboo trees and compressed and dyed using special Japanese techniques.
