Old tree Shu Pu-erh, Gong Ting (bud and leaves)
Harvest date: April and September, 2022
Growing region: Ming Feng Shan, Lincang Region
Altitude: 2050-2100m
Tea bush/variety: Yunnan Big Leaf Tea Old Tree
Taste : sweet, woody, herbaceous, reminiscent of a Hong Kong grass jelly snack, no trace of fishy aroma resulting from fermentation. It tastes purely like a good Shu Pu Erh, which has been processed by a master hand.
Consistency : medium thick, very soft, silky
1 slice contains about 8g of tea. 7 slices (56g) come in 1 mini tong, a handy size for on the go and to take on holiday.
We recommend the traditional "Gong Fu preparation " for this tea:
- Heat a small teapot of approx. 200 ml with boiling water.
- Pour out the water, add 1 slice of tea to the pot
- Pour boiling water onto the Pu Erh, wait 3 seconds and pour away the tea (This step is to activate the pressed tea and clean it of any dust)
- Pour boiling water over the Pu Erh tea again. Let it steep for about 5 minutes for the 1st infusion.
- Later infusions take shorter time (1-2 minutes) because the leaves have opened after the first infusion.
This aged Pu Erh tea can be
infused at least 8 times with Gong-Fu broths.
