This high-quality Dong Ding Oolong from the Sun Link Sea region is a less roasted variety that is characterized by its warm, creamy and nutty taste. The gentle oxidation of 25% gives it a pleasant floral note, while its soft texture leaves a particularly round and warming mouthfeel.
Compared to the traditional, more heavily roasted version of Dong Ding Qingxin, this tea is less woody and roasted, instead its fine, balanced aromas unfold with a subtle sweetness.
Preparation in a Gongfu teapot
- Put about 5 g of Dong Ding Oolong tea leaves into a Gongfu teapot/Gaiwan
- Add water of 95 °C to the jug
- brewed for about 45 seconds the first time (30 seconds longer for subsequent infusions)
- To serve Formosa Dong Ding Oolong brewed in small Gongfu cups (one Gongfu teapot usually can serve around 4 Gongfu cups)
- 5-6 Formosa Dong Ding Oolong tea leaves can be brewed in a Gongfu teapot about 6-8 times
