Mini Yixing Xishi pot (110 ml) handmade by Pan Ruiling from original Huanglong Shan old purple clay / old Zini. Pan Ruiling is a young Yixing handcrafter grew up and lives in Yixing. Though she only started making pots as a profession after graduation from university, she lives all her life in a pot-making family, watching and helping her family members making teapots. Though she is still working toward a professional title, her fully handmade teapots are among the top quality Xishi pots that I have experienced, and they are at an easily affordable price unlike those made by big name masters.
I received the question many times, if this teapot is really handmade. I confirm that, the entire teapot except the tea strainer is handmade by Pan Rui Ling. The tea strainer is pressed by a mold. Pan Rui Ling is an apprentice in Yixing teapot making, but she was born and grew up in a teapot-making family in Yixing. The prices of teapots handmade by her after she finishes her apprenticeship will be increased.
